Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hale Erwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erwin has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hale Erwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gabriel Washington! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A left lands for Washington. Washington uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Erwin.
Erwin is breathing heavily. A jab from Erwin does it's job there. Washington throws a hook to the side of Erwin's head but Erwin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Washington comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Washington cracks Erwin with a good jab. Washington lands with an overhand left. Erwin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Washington throws a shot to the body.
Washington drops Erwin with a big left hand and mounts him. Erwin is in big trouble!
Erwin is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Washington controlling the pace for now. Oh Erwin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. Erwin in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Washington controlling his opponent. Erwin seems to have got his legs back now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Erwin is desperately trying to improve his position but Washington has a good base and remains in mount. Washington controlling the pace for now. Washington trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Washington sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Let's hope that Washington has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Erwin is squirming around, avoiding Washington's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Washington throws some wild stikes that Erwin manages to avoid easily.
Washington takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Erwin wants to control but Washington is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gabriel Washington dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hale Erwin's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Erwin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Washington lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. The fighters circling - Washington throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Washington thuds a left hand into Erwin's body. Oh, that's a big right hand from Washington and Erwin goes tumbling to the canvas! Washington follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Washington trying to pass the guard but Erwin defending well. Washington is figuring out what he wants to do next. Erwin is looking to improve his position.
Washington performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Gabriel Washington has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Washington's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Washington is continuing to stall. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Washington trying to mount his opponent but Erwin defends it. Washington is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Washington content to control rather than advance. Washington is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Washington in particular looking to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Washington closes the distance and clinches. A head punch on the inside from Washington fails to land. Washington has been the more effective fighter overall so far. A nice right hand lands inside from Washington. Washington lands with a short head shot on the inside. Washington working some nice short punches in the clinch. Washington swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Erwin working hard to break the clinch. Washington struggles to land a body shot inside as Erwin controls his hands.

Washington lands with a short head shot on the inside. Erwin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Washington jumps into guard, dragging Erwin to the mat.

Erwin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Washington holds on and takes a little breather. Washington is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Gabriel Washington showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Hale Erwin's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Erwin keeping moving, preventing Washington from controlling successfully. Washington is stalling in the full guard. Washington throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Erwin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Washington trying to control the position from guard on top but Erwin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Washington stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Erwin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Washington looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Washington trying to control but Erwin is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hale Erwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Erwin ducks straight into an uppercut from Washington and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Erwin manages to regain guard straight away.
Hale Erwin's cut is getting worse. Washington's corner is telling him to maintain position. Hale Erwin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The adventures of Washington the control monster continue. Boring. Washington looking to pass the guard. Washington is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Washington waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Erwin. Erwin looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. A big right from Erwin misses. Washington lands a nice shot that snaps Erwin's head back.
Erwin circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Washington. Erwin falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Washington!
