Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Holdsworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sky Hook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sky Hook will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Holdsworth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sky Hook!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Hook does no damage.
Holdsworth's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hook connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Holdsworth scrambles back to his feet.


It looks like Aaron Holdsworth has been cut.
Hook swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Holdsworth cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hook lands with a right hand.
Holdsworth throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hook counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hook has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Holdsworth clinches up with Hook and pushes him back against the cage.
Hook lands a shoulder strike.


Holdsworth is rocked!
Holdsworth tries to pull guard but Hook won't allow it.
Oh Holdsworth is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hook avoiding damage.
Hook has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Holdsworth is working Hook over against the cage.
Holdsworth seems to have got his legs back now.

Holdsworth pulls guard successfully.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Holdsworth wants to sweep here but Hook controlling him for the moment.
Hook trying to control the position from guard on top but Holdsworth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Holdsworth trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Hook stopping the sweep attempt from Holdsworth.
Holdsworth wants to improve his position but instead Hook has moved into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holdsworth works his way to full guard. Good work.
Holdsworth manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hook manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A punch combination from Hook misses.
We've been hearing reports that Holdsworth has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Hook throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Holdsworth holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Holdsworth is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Holdsworth tries to pull guard but Hook forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Holdsworth. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hook gets underhooks to prevent Holdsworth's takedown attempt.
Holdsworth tries for a takedown. No joy.

Hook breaks from the clinch.
Sky Hook is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Holdsworth closes the distance and clinches.
Hook working hard to break the clinch.
Holdsworth drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hook pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hook throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Holdsworth tries to clinch up but Hook circles away and keeps his distance.
A slow jab from Hook misses its intended target.
Holdsworth was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Holdsworth keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hook.
Hook avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hook bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Holdsworth's head backwards.
Holdsworth tries to clinch up but Hook circles away and keeps his distance.
Holdsworth takes one on the chin but keeps coming.


Aaron Holdsworth's cut is getting worse.
Hook closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Holdsworth! Hook dives in looking to finish! Holdsworth is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sky Hook!
