The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negi dives in for a single leg takedown but Gilliam sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Gilliam decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gilliam is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Negi has hold of Gilliam's hands but Gilliam slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Gilliam is nestled in close to Negi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gilliam scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Gilliam looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gilliam lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Negi! More strikes land and this one is all over! Gilliam jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
