Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Iasonas Papadopoulos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Trez!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Papadopoulos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Papadopoulos lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Papadopoulos leaves Trez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Trez.
Papadopoulos is breathing heavily.
Trez advances nicely into full mount.
Papadopoulos wants to control but Trez is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trez is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Papadopoulos looks a forlorn figure.

Papadopoulos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trez on the ground.
It looks like Trez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Trez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Papadopoulos closes the distance and clinches up with Trez, looking for a takedown. Papadopoulos pushes Trez against the cage but Trez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Papadopoulos throws a series of punches but Trez avoids them all with ease.

Trez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Papadopoulos fails to pull guard.

Papadopoulos wants to control from the top but Trez keeps moving.
Trez pulls Papadopoulos in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Let's hope that Trez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Trez is continuing to stall.

Trez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Papadopoulos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Trez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mark Trez has got the better of the ground game so far.

Trez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Papadopoulos is aware though and is defending well.

Trez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Papadopoulos's guard.

Trez wants to get up but he can't break Papadopoulos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Trez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Trez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Papadopoulos's guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Trez in particular looking to stall.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Trez.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Trez wants to work for an arm triangle but Papadopoulos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Trez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Papadopoulos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Trez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Papadopoulos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Papadopoulos misses with a takedown attempt - Trez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Trez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Papadopoulos on his heels. He'll look to pass Papadopoulos's guard now, I'm sure.

Trez is pushing down on Papadopoulos's leg trying to pass to half guard. Papadopoulos is fighting to maintain full guard but Trez has managed to sneak the leg through.

Papadopoulos throws a head punch that misses.

Trez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Trez tries to stand but Papadopoulos is controlling from the bottom.
Papadopoulos wants to sweep but no luck.

Trez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The adventures of Trez the control monster continue. Boring.
Trez is working Papadopoulos over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Papadopoulos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Trez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Papadopoulos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mark Trez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Trez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
