The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bang looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shopionus is fending him off so far but Bang persists. Nope, Shopionus circles away and we're back to standing.
Bang takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ricky Shopionus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shopionus throws a hook but Bang blocks it.
Shopionus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bang dives in and scores a takedown into Shopionus's guard.
Shopionus has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bang slips nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bang is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Shopionus is positioning himself well to prevent Bang advancing to mount.

Bang is trying to work for a kimura but Shopionus is defending well.
Bang not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Bang has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shopionus wants to improve his position but Bang is controlling well.
Shopionus is controlling Bang's trapped leg to prevent Bang from advancing to side control.
Shopionus is pressing down on Bang's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Bang is fighting to break Shopionus's control of his arms but Shopionus is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Bang drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bang jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Bang drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Bang as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Shopionus screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Bang! Nice submission victory there!
