Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Great Bloodsport! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fred Frederiksen! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bloodsport fails with a takedown attempt. Frederiksen swings away with a leg kick that misses. Bloodsport looks to score with a jab to the body but Frederiksen is just out of range. Frederiksen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Frederiksen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bloodsport on his heels. He'll look to pass Bloodsport's guard now, I'm sure. Bloodsport keeping moving, preventing Frederiksen from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frederiksen throws a big elbow that misses. Frederiksen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bloodsport works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Frederiksen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bloodsport has his hands on Frederiksen's head, controlling the position. Frederiksen throws an elbow that misses. Bloodsport uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Frederiksen's guard. Nice move by Bloodsport! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bloodsport throws a strike but Frederiksen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Frederiksen with a flurry of punches that miss.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Frederiksen throws a series of punches but Bloodsport moves out of range. Bloodsport shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Frederiksen as he avoids it easily. Bloodsport looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bloodsport has been working on his balance at Morbid Conditioning, Trans, Esc School $1000, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Frederiksen. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Great Bloodsport. That's going to take a lot out of him. Frederiksen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bloodsport manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

It seemed like Frederiksen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Bloodsport shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Frederiksen defends it nicely.

Frederiksen closes the distance and clinches up with Bloodsport, looking for a takedown. Frederiksen pushes Bloodsport against the cage but Bloodsport circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bloodsport moves into the clinch successfully.

Bloodsport has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Frederiksen after a bit of a struggle. Frederiksen tries to circle away but Bloodsport has him pinned against the cage. Bloodsport's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bloodsport is defended easily by Frederiksen. Frederiksen appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. An inside leg kick from Frederiksen misses. Bloodsport shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Frederiksen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bloodsport shoots in but no luck this time. Bloodsport doesn't succeed with the takedown and Frederiksen counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Bloodsport is trying to break the clinch but Frederiksen is controlling him. Frederiksen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bloodsport uses from the top position. Bloodsport is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Frederiksen is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Fred Frederiksen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bloodsport shoots in but Frederiksen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Horrible takedown attempt by Bloodsport or perhaps it was just good defense by Frederiksen, which made it look bad. Frederiksen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bloodsport walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Frederiksen misses with a shot to the body and Frederiksen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Frederiksen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Great Bloodsport has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bloodsport looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Fred Frederiksen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Frederiksen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
