Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bart Beans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bradon cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
cortez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Beans stuffs the takedown.
Beans moves out of range of the body kick from cortez.
cortez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
cortez tries to clinch but Beans moves out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from cortez.
Bart Beans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of bradon cortez.

Beans has cortez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. cortez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

cortez throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
cortez throws a right hand that Beans ducks under and follows up with a left that Beans also avoids with ease.

Beans drives through and clinches with cortez against the cage.

cortez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beans as he jumps to the side.

Beans is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! cortez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! cortez has escaped and now he's on top!
cortez is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Beans escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. cortez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
cortez stands up over Beans, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Beans is wriggling around but cortez manages to pass to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beans is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but cortez pulls his head out easily.
cortez trying to control the action but Beans is working from the bottom.
Beans tries to regain full guard. Instead though, cortez has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Beans wants to control but cortez is having none of it.

cortez tries to get the hooks in deep but Beans pushed the leg off.

Despite being in the dominant position, bradon cortez just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Beans postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! cortez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Beans, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

cortez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Beans defends it well.

cortez stands up and beckons Beans to join him on the feet.

Beans closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Beans is trying to drag cortez to the mat but cortez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

cortez wants to stand but Beans is controlling the position.

Beans is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Beans wants to get up but he can't break cortez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now cortez is on top in guard.
cortez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Beans has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but cortez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Beans had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. cortez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Beans Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take cortez's back instead.
Beans is trying to stick to cortez's back but cortez is turning into Beans. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Beans's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by cortez.
