The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Assad misses with a takedown attempt - Byczek sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Byczek tests Al Assad's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Bashar Al Assad has been cut.
Byczek's jab looks to have found its range, popping Al Assad under the eye.
Al Assad takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Al Assad misses with a takedown
and Byczek counters by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Byczek breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bashar Al Assad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Al Assad takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Byczek clobbers Al Assad with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Byczek circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Al Assad to the canvas! Al Assad doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Byczek keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
