Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Craig Mitchell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Schilling! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schilling throws a hook but Mitchell avoids it easily. Mitchell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Schilling holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Schilling misses with a knee strike.
Schilling working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Schilling comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Schilling with a knee to the head.
A short uppercut from Schilling. Schilling softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Schilling lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Craig Mitchell has been cut. A short uppercut from Schilling. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Schilling tries to land a knee to the head but Mitchell blocks with his arms.

Schilling lands a shoulder strike. Mitchell drops down looking for an ankle pick but Schilling pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schilling pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Schilling scores with a shot to the body.
Schilling scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Mitchell walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Schilling throws a lazy uppercut
and Mitchell counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Mitchell wants to control but Schilling is keeping him busy. Schilling wants to get back to full guard. Schilling looking for submissions off his back. Mitchell missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Schilling is not content to let Mitchell control the position. Schilling is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schilling makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Schilling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mitchell is pushing down on Schilling's leg trying to pass to half guard. Schilling is fighting to maintain full guard but Mitchell has managed to sneak the leg through.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schilling defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mitchell. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Craig Mitchell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mitchell defending well as Schilling loads up on a big left hand. Schilling displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mitchell. Schilling works the jab nicely. Schilling lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mitchell at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Schilling misses the jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schilling looks to throw the jab but Mitchell is out of range. Schilling fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mitchell. Mitchell misses with a takedown attempt and Schilling counters with a nice kick to the body. Mitchell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mitchell gets tackled into the cage by Schilling. Schilling maintains the clinch. A nice glancing elbow lands by Schilling. Mitchell fails to pull guard.
Schilling lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Schilling gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mitchell.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Schilling. Schilling pushes Mitchell back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Mitchell is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Schilling gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Schilling gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Schilling lands an elbow just above Mitchell 's eye. Schilling putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Mitchell in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Mitchell is breathing heavily. Schilling lands a nice uppercut.
Craig Mitchell's cut is getting worse. Mitchell takes an elbow to the temple. Schilling makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Schilling lands with a short shot to the head. Schilling scores with a shoulder strike. Schilling connects with a nasty looking knee right to Mitchell's face.

Joe Schilling dominated that round. The cut man is working on Craig Mitchell's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Good standup being displayed there by Schilling as he connects with a hook. Craig Mitchell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schilling swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mitchell. Oh Mitchell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Mitchell with a poor takedown and Schilling moves into the clinch. Mitchell seems to have got his legs back now. Schilling lands on the inside with an uppercut. A nice glancing elbow lands by Schilling. Schilling is working Mitchell over against the cage. Schilling throws a knee to the head but misses.
Schilling lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mitchell backwards. Schilling working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Schilling pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mitchell with a lazy takedown attempt and Schilling counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This has been an exciting period of action! Mitchell tries to clinch but fails miserably letting Schilling counter with a right hand. Mitchell tries to clinch but Schilling moves out of range. Schilling tries to counter with a clinch but Mitchell shakes him off and moves away.

Schilling lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mitchell backwards. Schilling has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Mitchell seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Schilling can turn it around. Schilling using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Schilling makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Schilling drops Mitchell onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Mitchell is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Craig Mitchell's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Schilling lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mitchell backwards. Schilling lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Mitchell to his knees! Schilling keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
