PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sean Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Leach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leach has chosen Wiki - Wikispeaks as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Matt Leach was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sean Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Leach!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foster shoots and misses
and Leach counters with a series of strikes. Foster will be more careful next time no doubt.
Foster tries for a takedown but Leach sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Foster dives in and grabs Leach's left leg, looking for a takedown. Leach pushes down on Foster's head and hops out.
Foster definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

As Foster backs off Leach throws a huge counter combo but Foster manages to avoid it all.

Foster shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Leach as he avoids it easily.

Leach throws a series of strikes that have Foster backpedaling.
Foster tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leach paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Leach lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Leach leaves Foster with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Foster has his takedown stuffed

and Leach holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Foster changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Leach fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Leach circles away from the clinch attempt.
Foster throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leach's waist but Leach gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Foster off to one side.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Foster lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Leach has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Leach and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Foster will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Leach is looking for the big counter here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Foster closes the distance and clinches up with Leach, looking for a takedown. Foster pushes Leach against the cage but Leach circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Foster fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Leach is out of range.
Leach feints a jab promting Foster to slip. Leach then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Foster slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Leach looks to land a combination. Foster sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Foster tries to clinch but Leach is having none of it.

Foster has his takedown stuffed
and Leach counters with a one-two to the body.
Leach is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Foster shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Leach but Leach pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As Foster backs off Leach throws a huge counter combo but Foster manages to avoid it all.
Leach throws a one two combo.
Leach moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Foster shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Leach defends it nicely.
Despite the aggression on Leach's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Foster misses with a takedown attempt - Leach sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Leach lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Foster drives through and clinches with Leach against the cage.
Leach scores a nice knee to the body.
Leach scores with a shot to the side of Foster's head.
Leach has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Leach is working Foster over against the cage.

Leach pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Foster is rocked!
Leach goes for a small jab and connects. Now Leach goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Foster stumbles back but Leach runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Foster to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Foster will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Matt Leach!
