Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Hamden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Achilles OfThessaly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Achilles OfThessaly! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OfThessaly lands a head kick!
OfThessaly fails to land the takedown. Hamden gets a takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hamden in particular looking to stall. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hamden lands a nice short elbow. OfThessaly is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. OfThessaly wants to get back to his feet.
OfThessaly trying to control from the bottom.
Hamden wants to take a breather but OfThessaly is having none of it. Hamden slows the pace down in half guard. OfThessaly wants to control but Hamden is keeping busy.
OfThessaly looking for submissions off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hamden goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. OfThessaly fails with the takedown and Hamden counters with a takedown into side control. Hamden tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. OfThessaly trying to remain calm as Hamden controls from the top position. OfThessaly dodges the ground and pound from Hamden. Hamden slows the pace down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. OfThessaly struggling a bit here. OfThessaly manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hamden's best efforts. OfThessaly wants to improve his position but Hamden is controlling well.
Hamden trying to control from OfThessaly's half guard. OfThessaly has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Hamden preventing the sweep. Hamden stops OfThessaly from standing up. Hamden would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Hamden is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. OfThessaly is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hamden is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hamden stopping the sweep attempt from OfThessaly.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hamden instigates a clinch. Hamden successfully pulls guard.

Jason Hamden dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
OfThessaly darts in trying to clinch and Hamden counters with a takedown into side control. OfThessaly taking punishment in the form of punches.
OfThessaly gets back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. OfThessaly is trying to maintain the position but Hamden is very close to passing his half guard. Hamden wants to pass to mount but OfThessaly is defending the position. OfThessaly trying to hold on to Hamden's head to control him but Hamden postures up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. OfThessaly tries to roll over but Hamden keeps him under control. OfThessaly tries to kick Hamden off but Hamden keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hamden throws a shot to the body.
Hamden moves away from the strike by OfThessaly. Hamden throws a series of punches but OfThessaly moves out of range. OfThessaly tries a head kick but it misses.
OfThessaly shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hamden counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. OfThessaly misses with some punches.
Hamden gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hamden keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. OfThessaly regains full guard. Nicely done. OfThessaly looking for a sweep. Not yet OfThessaly, not yet. Hamden tries to stand but OfThessaly is controlling from the bottom. Jason Hamden overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. OfThessaly is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hamden has his hands clasped together but OfThessaly extends an breaks Hamden's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by OfThessaly.
