Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Karl Heinz Bauser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alejandro Vasquez! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bauser is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vasquez. Vasquez lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A cross from Vasquez lands. Bauser throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Bauser connects with an inside leg kick. Vasquez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bauser throws a quick counter head kick but Vasquez was just out of range. Vasquez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bauser tries to land a leg kick but Vasquez saw it coming and moves away.
Bauser throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vasquez with a jab. Bauser looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Vasquez fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bauser on the side of the head. Bauser circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bauser throws a leg kick but Vasquez checks it. Bauser tried to score with a low kick but Vasquez checks it. Bauser avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vasquez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Bauser throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. A leg kick checked by Vasquez. Vasquez looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Vasquez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Both fighters circling a little - Bauser finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasquez uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Bauser throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A little jabbing left from Vasquez on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Vasquez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bauser's head backwards. Bauser throws a leg kick and Vasquez counters with a straight right hand. Vasquez just misses with a punch to the body.
Bauser fires out a quick counter leg kick but Vasquez just manages to avoid it. A chopping leg kick lands by Bauser. Vasquez takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vasquez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bauser swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bauser is looking to counter with a body kick. Vasquez throws a lazy uppercut
and Bauser counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Vasquez lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Vasquez. Vasquez misses with an uppercut. Vasquez tries to clinch but Bauser moves away and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Bauser pushes Vasquez away with a front kick. Bauser connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Vasquez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bauser moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bauser does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Bauser has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vasquez finds it's way round the side to connect with Bauser's head. Bauser misses with a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Vasquez tries to clinch up. Bauser throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Vasquez lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Vasquez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bauser moves away. A bone on bone clash there as Vasquez blocks the leg kick.
Bauser uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vasquez.
And Bauser counters with a quick kick to the body but Vasquez blocks it. Vasquez checks a leg kick nicely. Vasquez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bauser fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vasquez. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alejandro Vasquez will probably get the nod. That's time! Bauser's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A big right from Vasquez misses. Alejandro Vasquez seems to be getting the better of the standup. Vasquez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vasquez sizes up Bauser with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Vasquez tries to clinch there but Bauser circles away.
Crunch! Bauser slams his shin into Vasquez's torso. Bauser takes a body punch but keeps moving. Vasquez with a hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vasquez just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bauser working hard to break the clinch. Bauser is trying to break the clinch but Vasquez is controlling him. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Vasquez. Vasquez throws a punch but it's blocked by Bauser. Bauser has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Vasquez tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Vasquez lands with a right to the head. Bauser breaks from the clinch.
Bauser finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Vasquez throws a good cross that connects.

Vasquez getting the better of the striking in that exchange. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vasquez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Vasquez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Vasquez connects with a right hand. Bauser shakes it off.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Vasquez. Bauser moves forwards but Vasquez connects with a nice, crisp jab. Vasquez's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Vasquez tries to clinch up. Vasquez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bauser staying out of range there. Bauser jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bauser scores with a leg kick.
Bauser takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Vasquez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bauser paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bauser tried to score with a low kick but Vasquez checks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alejandro Vasquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Bauser swats away the attempt to clinch by Vasquez. Vasquez rushes Bauser and presses him up against the cage. Vasquez scores with a hook to the body. Vasquez lands a shot to the body. Vasquez slows down the pace here.
Vasquez will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bauser up against the cage. Vasquez continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bauser tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vasquez just stands there and leans against the cage. Bauser has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Vasquez has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Bauser seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Vasquez can turn it around.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasquez throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bausers head. Vasquez lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Bauser blocks an uppercut.
Vasquez is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Bauser tries to pull guard but Vasquez forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Bauser has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Vasquez uses from the top position. Bauser has a closed guard, preventing Vasquez from standing up. Bauser is looking for a triangle but Vasquez pushes his legs off easily.

Vasquez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Vasquez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bauser working a defensive guard here.
Bauser is looking to cinch up a triangle. Vasquez throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bauser's body to avoid the submission. Bauser has instead reached around Vasquez's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bauser arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Karl Heinz Bauser! Karl Heinz Bauser took his opportunity to call for a title shot in his post fight interview. Alejandro Vasquez spoke after the fight, saying 'I'll come back to punch your face, bitch'.
