Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mitchell Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ireneusz Mazur! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mazur fails in his attempt to clinch. Mazur fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mazur throws a combination that misses so Day counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Mazur trying to keep a closed guard but Day is proving a slippery customer.
Day gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Mazur lands a leg kick that knocks Day off balance momentarily. Mazur shoots in but Day avoids the takedown attempt easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day swats away the attempt to clinch by Mazur. It looked like Day was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Day throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Day tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Mazur moves into range and clinches up with Day. Mazur is defending well against a takedown attempt. Day prevents the takedown attempt.

Mazur is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Day to keep the fight standing. Day will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Day scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Day tries to stand but Mazur is controlling from the bottom. Day working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Day is working Mazur over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Day wants to stand but Mazur is controlling his posture from full guard. Day really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Day slaps away a takedown attempt from Mazur, before circling back to the center of the mat. It looked like Day was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Mazur shoots for a double leg takedown but Day sprawls well. He's pushed Mazur's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mazur shoots in but no luck this time. Mazur looks winded! Mazur lands a nice looking kick to the body. Day takes a step back to recover. Day throws a body kick that misses. Day avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

A head kick misses from Day. Mazur wants to clinch. Day throws a right and a left that both miss. Day defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mazur. Mazur gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Day counters with a one-two to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Day pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mazur is out of range and Day settles back down. Mazur shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Day sprawls well. Day wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mazur gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mazur tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mazur throws a lazy body kick and Day counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Day. Mazur is trying to pull guard but Day turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Mazur's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Day jumps guard but Mazur stands there with Day around his waist. Day gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Day. Mazur shrugs it off though. Day has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mazur uses from the top position. Day throws a hook to the side of Mazur's head but Mazur sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mazur was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Mazur wants to clinch. Mazur connects with an inside leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day circles away from the clinch attempt.

Mazur has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Day clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Mazur patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Day prevents Mazur from getting a body triangle. Mazur goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Day escapes and is now in half guard on top. Mazur takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Day lands a nice short elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Day scoring with strikes to the body and head. Mazur works his way to full guard. Good work. Mazur has momentary wrist control but Day slips an elbow through the middle. Day has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Day's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Day postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Day scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Day wants to stand but Mazur is controlling his posture from full guard. Day landing some decent shots from guard.

Day seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Day postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Mazur to stand up. Mazur tries to clinch there but Day circles away.

Day fails in his attempt to clinch. Mazur is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Day. Day lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Day instigates a clinch. Day effectively controlling the action here. Mazur tries to pull guard but Day forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Day jumps guard and drags Mazur to the mat.
