Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Li!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes tries to move into range but Li moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
The crowd cheers as Li lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hughes doesn't seem phased though.

Li fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hughes was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Li misses with a wild combination.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hughes. Li does a little dance to reset his feet.

Hughes appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Li throws a jab but it's blocked by Hughes.
Li cracks Hughes with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Li throws a half hearted mid kick.
Hughes swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Hughes throws a low kick but it's checked well by Li.
Hughes takes one to the chin there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hughes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hughes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Li throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hughes throws a quick counter head kick but Li was just out of range.
Li tries to bum rush Hughes with a series of wild strikes but Hughes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Li punishes Hughes's body with a nice straight punch.
Li scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Li throws a right hand that Hughes ducks under and follows up with a left that Hughes also avoids with ease.
Hughes throws a quick counter head kick but Li was just out of range.
Li fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Li tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hughes was well out of range. Poor timing from Li.
Hughes lands a head kick!
Jeff Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hughes tests Li's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hughes throws a jab but it's blocked by Li.
Li scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hughes doesn't seem bothered though.

No joy there for Li, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Li avoids the body shot from Hughes.
Li lands with a hook. Hughes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Nice body kick from Li.
Li ducks under a wild hook from Hughes.
Hughes throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Li on the side of the head.
Li misses with a body shot.

Hughes drops down looking for a counter takedown but Li sprawls and moves away.
Li swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Li throws a lazy right hand but Hughes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hughes takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Li lands with a right that hurts Hughes. Hughes looks to clinch but Li throws a short knee that drops Hughes. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Jeff Li!
After the fight, Jeff Li was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
