The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Kunene as he connects with a hook.
Mizaki throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kunene sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kunene uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mizaki.
The fighters circling - Mizaki throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kunene ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Mizaki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kunene manages to avoid it.
No joy there for Kunene, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mizaki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mizaki throws a body shot but no joy.
Kunene lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for Mizaki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kunene connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Mizaki's hands.
It looks like Kazuo Mizaki has been cut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kunene connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mizaki. Mizaki circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kunene throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Mizaki throws a hook but Kunene avoids it easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kunene darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kunene has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Mizaki is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kunene. Mizaki does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Kunene counters with a straight right hand.

Kunene throws a push kick but Mizaki slaps the foot to one side.
Kunene misses with a straight right.
Mizaki is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Kunene dodges the punch combination from Mizaki.
Mizaki takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kazuo Mizaki's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Mizaki jabbing away but nothing is landing.

and Kunene counters with a nice uppercut.
Kunene is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mizaki had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Mizaki misses the jab.
Mizaki takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jeez, Kazuo Mizaki's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Mizaki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Kunene wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mizaki is breathing heavily.
Mizaki takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kazuo Mizaki's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
