The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Djumagaliev is pressed up against the cage. Hughes has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Djumagaliev down to the mat. Djumagaliev avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Djumagaliev scores with a hook to the body. Hughes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

and Hughes counters with a takedown into side control.

Hughes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Djumagaliev is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Djumagaliev wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Hughes has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Djumagaliev is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hughes yanks on the arm and Djumagaliev is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hughes.
