Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Paterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giorgos Mazmanidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Paterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Giorgos Mazmanidis! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mazmanidis dodges the punch combination from Paterson.
Nice shot lands for Paterson. Mazmanidis gets a double leg takedown into Paterson's guard. Mazmanidis forces his way into half guard. Mazmanidis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mazmanidis tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Paterson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mazmanidis wants to free his trapped foot but Paterson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Mazmanidis tries to stand but can't do so whilst Paterson controls his leg. Paterson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mazmanidis moves into full mount! Paterson won't be happy about that! Mazmanidis looking to control and managing it successfully. Mazmanidis trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Paterson wants to hold on but Mazmanidis pushes him away. Mazmanidis punching from mount but Paterson doing a good job of avoiding damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mazmanidis has control of Paterson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Paterson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Paterson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Paterson tries to get out of the position. Paterson tries to lock up and control but Mazmanidis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Paterson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mazmanidis looking to control but Paterson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mazmanidis thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Mazmanidis looking to control and managing it successfully. Mazmanidis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Paterson is looking to escape. Mazmanidis looking to finish with strikes here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mazmanidis thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Mazmanidis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mazmanidis trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mazmanidis is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Paterson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Paterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mazmanidis on the ground. Mazmanidis sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Mazmanidis trying to control but he's not successful this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mazmanidis with the ground and pound from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Giorgos Mazmanidis dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Paterson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mazmanidis's head. Paterson with a hook. Mazmanidis misses with a few strikes there.
Mazmanidis looks for a takedown but Paterson sprawls well. Giorgos Mazmanidis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Paterson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mazmanidis on the side of the head. Mazmanidis dives in and grabs Paterson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Paterson pushes down on Mazmanidis's head and hops out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paterson misses with the combination.
Mazmanidis shoots in for a double leg but Paterson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Paterson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Jim Paterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giorgos Mazmanidis.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paterson cracks Mazmanidis with an open hand slap. Nice shot lands for Paterson. Mazmanidis misses with a takedown and Mazmanidis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mazmanidis is breathing heavily. Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Paterson! Mazmanidis is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
