Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Dewayne Cain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pierre Quessey! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quessey shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Cain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cain is looking for a triangle but Quessey pushes his legs off easily.
Quessey stays in close to Cain's body and controls the position. Quessey lands a couple of elbows. Quessey sitting in guard here, content to control. Cain trying to keep a closed guard but Quessey is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quessey distracts Cain with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Cain looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Quessey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quessey trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Quessey tries to free his leg and advance position but Cain is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quessey trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cain's guard. Cain is looking for a triangle but Quessey pushes his legs off easily.
Quessey controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Quessey drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Quessey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cain has a closed guard, preventing Quessey from standing up. Cain being controlled here, momentarily. Cain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quessey is stalling in the full guard. Cain is striking but Quessey is not phased and passes to half guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Cain tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Quessey tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cain sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Quessey somewhat. Pierre Quessey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Quessey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cain but Cain pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Quessey goes for a double leg but Cain avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cain continues to drive forward. Cain seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Dewayne Cain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pierre Quessey. Quessey gets a takedown into half guard. Cain looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Quessey tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cain knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pierre Quessey dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Cain displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Quessey. Quessey throws a sloppy head kick and Cain moves out of range easily. Dewayne Cain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cain gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Quessey to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cain striking from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Quessey's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Quessey postures up.
Quessey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cain swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quessey advances position into side control! Quessey tries to stand but Cain is controlling his head. Cain can't do much from the bottom here. Quessey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cain keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cain wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Quessey just content to control the position. Quessey gets to mount! Cain was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Cain is squirming around, avoiding Quessey's attempts to control the action. Quessey raining down hammerfists from mount. Cain tries to reverse the position but Quessey maintains control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quessey looking to control and managing it successfully. Quessey tries to control but Cain wriggling away. Quessey lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Cain is rocked! Quessey controlling his opponent. Oh Cain is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Cain seems to have got his legs back now. Quessey working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quessey looking to control and managing it successfully. Cain tries to hold on but Quessey postures up. Cain sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Cain has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Quessey is working away from the top position though. Cain flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Quessey keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pierre Quessey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Quessey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cain swivels and escapes. Quessey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Quessey scores with a big shot! Cain's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Cain! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
