Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Trinidad Elliott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas Griffin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Trinidad Elliott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Douglas Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Elliott as Griffin shoots in.
Elliott is looking to counter with a body kick.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Elliott sprawls well. Elliott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Griffin gets slowly back to his feet.

Elliott tries to keep at a distance but Griffin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Griffin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Elliott.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A frustrated look appears on Griffin's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Elliott keeps control of Griffin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Griffin tries to throw a body punch but Elliott avoids it by throwing Griffin back against the cage.
Elliott keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Griffin's efforts to push away.

Trinidad Elliott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Douglas Griffin.

Griffin gets control of Elliott's arms and successfully pulls guard. Griffin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Elliott wants to stand but Griffin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Elliott postures up in Griffin's guard and throws a big left but Griffin blocks it.
Elliott wants to get up but he can't break Griffin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Elliott postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Griffin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Elliott, into his guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Griffin wants to control from the top but Elliott keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Griffin shoots and misses
and Elliott counters with a left to the body.
Griffin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Elliott defends well and Griffin ends up having to push Elliott into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Griffin looks winded!

Elliott shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Griffin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Elliott's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Elliott's back!

We've been informed that Griffin has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Elliott manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Elliott.

Elliott is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Griffin works over Elliott with some ground and pound from guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Griffin tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Elliott is able to avoid easily.

Griffin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Griffin is trying to control. Elliott wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Griffin closes the distance and clinches up with Elliott, looking for a takedown. Griffin pushes Elliott against the cage but Elliott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Griffin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Elliott avoids it really well and circles away.
And Elliott counters with a quick kick to the body but Griffin blocks it.

Elliott throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Griffin was covering up waiting for the punch and Elliott finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Elliott wants to stand and escape but instead Griffin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Elliott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Griffin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Elliott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Griffin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffin is in close to Elliott's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Griffin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Griffin decides to stand back up. Griffin steps back and let's Elliott get back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Elliott is defended easily by Griffin.
Griffin looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Griffin shoots in for a double leg but Elliott sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Douglas Griffin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Griffin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Elliott tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Griffin is in Elliott's guard.
Griffin wanted to stand there but Elliott had control of the position.
Griffin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Elliott swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
