Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Quik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orpo Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jokinen has chosen Are You Dead Yet? by Children of Bodom as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jamal Quik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Orpo Jokinen! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quik closes the distance and clinches. Quik misses with a short punch on the inside. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jokinen creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Jokinen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jokinen throws a head kick but Quik moves out of range.
Jokinen moves out of range of the body kick. Quik misses with an uppercut. Jokinen saw that one coming. Jokinen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jokinen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Quik looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jokinen looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Quik is avoiding damage well.

Quik keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jokinen slows the pace down in half guard. Jokinen trying to mount his opponent but Quik defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jokinen is taking a breather. Quik says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Jokinen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Quik has managed to free his arm - good work. Quik is controlling Jokinen's position as best he can from this difficult position. Quik looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jokinen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Quik defends it well. Jokinen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jokinen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jokinen blocks a leg kick. A momentary lapse in concentration from Jokinen enables Quik to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jokinen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Jokinen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Quik sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Jokinen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jokinen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jokinen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Quik can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jokinen is looking for a triangle but Quik pushes his legs off easily.

Jokinen takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Jokinen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jokinen closes the distance looking to clinch and Quik connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jokinen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Quik tries to clinch up but Jokinen circles away and keeps his distance. A punch lands to the side of Jokinen 's head but he takes it in his stride. Quik throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Jokinen throws a leg kick but Quik sees it coming and moves out of range. Quik tried to counter with a leg kick but Jokinen avoided it. Quik's corner calls for a 1-2. Quik obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quik moves out of range of the leg kick from Jokinen. Jokinen throws a solid leg kick but Quik takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jokinen. Jokinen throws a body punch but Quik moves out of range. As Jokinen tries to get set, Quik tries to push him back and clinch up but Jokinen manages to avoid the attempt. Jokinen throws a big shot that misses. Quik with a jab.

Jokinen moves in looking to clinch but Quik pushes him off. Jokinen instigates a clinch. Quik can't find room to land a body shot as Jokinen controls the action.

Quik seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Jokinen can turn it around. A short right from Jokinen. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Quik throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jokinen is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Quik with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
