Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tetsuya Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 15 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marc Lewis Dillinger!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tate scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tate has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Tate wants to pass the guard but Dillinger is defending well.

Tate shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Tate is stalling in the full guard.
Tate seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dillinger for as long as he can get away with.

Tate perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Tate's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Dillinger has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Tate is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tate fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dillinger sprawls well initially but Tate persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Dillinger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tate wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Dillinger goes for a double leg but Tate avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tate continues to drive forward.
