Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arlen Gatlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Steelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gatlin misses with a wild body shot. Gatlin cracks Steelo with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Gatlin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Steelo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Gatlin wants to clinch up but Steelo keeps it at a distance. Gatlin throws a half hearted mid kick. Gatlin gets a takedown into half guard. Gatlin stops Steelo from getting back to his feet.
Steelo pushes Gatlin off and gets back to his feet. Gatlin feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Steelo's calf. Steelo misses with a two punch combination.
Steelo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

It looks like Steelo is going to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steelo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gatlin's head. Gatlin wants to improve his position but Steelo is controlling well.

Gatlin fakes the leg kick and cracks Steelo in the body. Gatlin misses with a takedown attempt and Steelo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Steelo. Gatlin looking to control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gatlin looking for a sweep. Not yet Gatlin, not yet. Gatlin working for a triangle but Steelo defends it easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gatlin is looking to clinch but Steelo is avoiding it.
Steelo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Steelo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Steelo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Steelo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gatlin keeps working. Steelo stands up and beckons Gatlin to join him on the feet. Nice body kick from Gatlin. Gatlin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gatlin throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Steelo stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Gatlin follows into mount!
It looks like Craig Steelo has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gatlin scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Steelo?

Gatlin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Steelo is looking to escape. Steelo wants to hold on but Gatlin pushes him away. Steelo is trying to stand up. and Gatlin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Steelo connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Gatlin! He's out on his feet! Steelo rushes in and drops Gatlin with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
