Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Moses Slater! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Sednev! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sednev moves into the clinch successfully.
Slater tries to land knees in the clinch but Sednev avoids the damage to the body. Sednev gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Slater has hold of Sednev's hands but Sednev slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Sednev thows a huge punch but Slater dodges it nicely.
Slater is looking to get back to full guard here but Sednev has managed to pass to side control instead. Sednev working away. Sednev wants to stand but Slater has his arm trapped. Sednev wants to control but Slater is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sednev wants to stand but Slater is controlling his arm. Slater is looking to regain half guard here but Sednev keeps moving and retains side control. Sednev works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slater is looking for a sweep. Sednev creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Sednev tries for a kimura but Slater is defending well. You can see the frustration on Slater's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Slater looks to move to half guard but instead Sednev has passed into mount! Damn! Sednev tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Sednev wants to get back to his feet but Slater is holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Slater is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Sednev avoids the attempt from Slater to control. Sednev breaks from Slater's wrist control and lands an elbow. Slater tries to reverse the position but Sednev maintains control. Sednev controlling the position easily from mount. It looks like Sednev might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slater is looking to get to half guard. Sednev has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Slater's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sednev with the ground and pound from mount. Sednev with good strikes from the mount here! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slater gets back to half guard. Sednev controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sednev has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Slater works to full guard. Sednev working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Sednev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Slater trying to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Slater looking for a sweep. Not yet Slater, not yet. Slater lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Slater postures up.
Sednev preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Slater is standing up over Sednev. Sednev looks to escape but Slater dives into side control.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Sednev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sednev throws a head kick but Slater moves out of range.
Slater appears to be looking for a big counter. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sednev fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Slater to the ground. Sednev is now in Slater's guard. Sednev has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Slater tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Sednev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Slater moves in looking to clinch but Sednev pushes him off. Sednev appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sednev. Moses Slater is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Slater keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sednev. Slater half committed to a counter leg kick. Slater dives in and grabs Sednev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sednev pushes down on Slater's head and hops out. Slater goes for a double leg but Sednev avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sednev continues to drive forward. Slater uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sednev. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sednev closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Slater tries to get to full guard but Sednev has control of the leg. Sednev content to control rather than advance. Sednev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Well, if Sednev is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Slater is looking to control Sednev's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Slater avoid being mounted? The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Still in half guard, Sednev seems content to control.

Slater lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Sednev gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Sednev manages to break the clinch.
Sednev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Slater on his heels. He'll look to pass Slater's guard now, I'm sure. Slater is trying to control the position but Sednev postures up. Sednev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Slater is trying to keep Sednev in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Slater manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sednev manages to get himself to full guard.
Slater won't allow Sednev to sweep him here. Sednev pulls Slater in close to prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Slater postures up and lands a big shot to Sednev's brow. Slater is fighting to break Sednev's control of his arms but Sednev is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Sednev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sednev passes the guard and advances to mount! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sednev takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Alex Sednev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sednev has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
