Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcio Freire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Paterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Paterson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paterson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Freire circles away quickly and effectively.
Paterson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Freire.

Paterson misses with a body shot.
Freire clinches with his opponent.
Freire breaks the clinch.
Freire closes the distance and clinches.
Freire is pushing Paterson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paterson is trying to break the clinch but Freire is controlling him.

Freire changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Paterson tries to avoid it but Freire manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Paterson to the ground. Paterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Paterson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcio Freire will probably get the nod.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Freire fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Paterson, pushing him back against the cage.
Paterson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Freire stalls.

Freire escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Paterson tests Freire's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Paterson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

and Paterson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Freire stalks Paterson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Paterson's face. Paterson staggers backwards, shaken.

Donk. Paterson catches Freire right on the button with a cross.

Freire's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Paterson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Freire scrambles back to his feet.
Paterson lands with an uppercut that bounces Freire off the cage and back into range.
Freire is rocked!
Paterson throws a right and a left that Freire avoids nicely.
Oh Freire is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Freire throws a hook to the side of Paterson's head but Paterson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
BOOM! Paterson lands a beautiful left hook that drops Freire. Freire tries to recover but Paterson is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Freire lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Paterson!
