Nascimento has chosen Symptom of The Universe (1975) as his entrance music. Cristiano Nascimento has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitbull uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nascimento.
Pitbull shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pitbull just misses with a punch to the body.
Pitbull lands a two punch combo.
Pitbull blocks a low kick nicely.
Nascimento lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Pitbull scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Pitbull checks a leg kick.
Nascimento buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A clash of legs there as Pitbull blocks the low kick.
Pitbull closes the distance and clinches up with Nascimento, looking for a takedown. Pitbull pushes Nascimento against the ropes but Nascimento circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nascimento raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nascimento has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nascimento throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Pitbull uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nascimento.

Pitbull fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alan Pitbull. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pitbull dives in for a single leg takedown but Nascimento sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.

Nascimento looks for the body kick but Pitbull saw that one coming.
Nascimento cracks Pitbull with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Pitbull takes a jab right on the kisser.
Nascimento digs a good body shot into Pitbull's ribs.
Pitbull gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Nascimento gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Pitbull is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cristiano Nascimento! Cristiano Nascimento retains his light heavyweight title!
In his post fight interview, Cristiano Nascimento started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
