Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dion Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ralfie Martin! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin forces Burns back against the cage and clinches. Martin manages to pull guard.
Martin controlling Burns's posture. Let's hope that Martin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burns gets to his feet - Martin follows without any prompting. Burns keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin gets in close and instigates a clinch. A battle for position here, against the cage. Martin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Burns gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Martin holds on and takes a little breather. Martin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Martin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Martin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Burns doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Burns manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Burns won't allow Martin to sweep him here. Burns will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Martin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Martin forces Burns back against the cage and clinches. Burns is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Martin tries to break free but Burns pushes him back against the cage. Martin can't break the clinch.

Martin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Martin is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Burns presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Burns tries to score a body lock takedown but Martin shows good agility there to stay on his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ralfie Martin dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Burns shoots for a double leg takedown but Martin sprawls well. He's pushed Burns's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ralfie Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Martin darts in looking for a takedown but Burns gets double underhooks and turns Martin into the cage. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Martin moves into range and clinches up with Burns. Martin wants to break free but Burns has control.

Dion Burns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Burns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martin as he avoids it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Martin is defended easily by Burns. Burns seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Martin closes the distance and clinches up with Burns, looking for a takedown. Martin pushes Burns against the cage but Burns circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Martin has managed to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Martin pulls him back up using the underhooks. Martin has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Martin missing with knees to the body.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Martin is trying to get back to half guard.

Ralfie Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Burns tries to stall but Martin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Martin is looking for a triangle but Burns pushes his legs off easily.
Martin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burns postures up in Martin's guard and throws a big left but Martin blocks it. Burns throws a big elbow that misses. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Martin seems keen to control Burns's posture. Dion Burns has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ralfie Martin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! Ralfie Martin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Martin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
