Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dewayne Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ron Jacobs has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Dewayne Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ron Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs closes the distance and clinches up with Cain, looking for a takedown. Jacobs pushes Cain against the cage but Cain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jacobs shoots for a takedown but Cain saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cain seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Jacobs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cain throws a big counter combination but Jacobs scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Jacobs doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cain counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Dewayne Cain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ron Jacobs.
Jacobs misses with an attempted mid kick.
Cain is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Ron Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jacobs looks to score with a jab to the body but Cain is just out of range.

Jacobs tries to land a knee to the head but Cain blocks with his arms.
Cain wants to break free but Jacobs has control.

Horrible takedown attempt by Jacobs or perhaps it was just good defense by Cain, which made it look bad.

A slapping leg kick lands for Jacobs.
Jacobs tries to bum rush Cain with a series of wild strikes but Cain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cain throws a series of punches but Jacobs avoids them all with ease.
Jacobs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jacobs tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cain defends well and Jacobs ends up having to push Cain into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
It looked like Cain was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Cain has managed to clinch.
Jacobs slowing the pace effectively.
Jacobs has Cain pushed against the cage.
Jacobs receives a warning from the referee for stalling.
Jacobs tries for a takedown but Cain manages to get underhooks.

Cain looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Jacobs is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cain gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Cain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jacobs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jacobs has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cain is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Cain on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

A close round but Ron Jacobs will probably get the nod.
That's time! Cain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Cain keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cain feinted there with a counter leg kick.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jacobs is defended easily by Cain.
Cain drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jacobs sprawls and moves away.

Jacobs fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jacobs throws the kick towards the body but Cain avoids it.

Jacobs moves into range and clinches up with Cain.
Jacobs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cain just stands there and leans against the cage.
Cain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jacobs lands with a right to the head.

Cain wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Cain breaks from the clinch.

Cain gets tackled into the cage by Jacobs. Jacobs maintains the clinch.
Jacobs keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cain's efforts to push away.

A combination from Jacobs does no damage.
Cain went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Cain takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Jacobs is breathing heavily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jacobs drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cain pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cain throws the kick towards the body but Jacobs avoids it.
Jacobs misses with a two punch combination.
A quick step to the side and Cain tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Cain fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jacobs, pushing him back against the cage.

Cain tries to close the distance and clinch but Jacobs swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jacobs takes the fight into the clinch.
Cain is working for takedown but Jacobs is calmly controlling the position for now.

Jacobs has Cain pressed against the cage, preventing Cain from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Cain has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Cain is trying to drag Jacobs to the mat but Jacobs just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Cain successfully pulls guard.
Cain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A close second round but Ron Jacobs will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cain lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jacobs has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jacobs and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Cain postures up in Jacobs's guard and throws a big left but Jacobs blocks it.

Cain loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jacobs is trying to control the position but Cain postures up.

Jacobs working for submissions but it's allowed Cain to get to half guard.
Jacobs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cain scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jacobs is working an open guard so Cain takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jacobs shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jacobs was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ron Jacobs is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Cain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jacobs is stalling here. Cain is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jacobs seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Cain has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dewayne Cain.
I think Jacobs has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
