Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Royce Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Royce Rua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Masters! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masters tries to clinch there but Rua circles away.
Rua shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masters as he avoids it easily. Masters tries to clinch there but Rua circles away.
Masters tries to clinch up. Rua feints and as Masters raises his hands in defense, Rua changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Masters not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Masters avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rua thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rua trying to control but Masters is working from the bottom. Rua landing with the ground and pound. Rua throws a big right hand that misses. Masters has momentary wrist control but Rua slips an elbow through the middle. Rua throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Masters works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rua preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua lands a couple of digs. Rua loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rua looking to pass the guard. Masters wants to stand and escape but Rua is having none of it. Rua with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Rua pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Masters is keeping the position for now. Masters looking for a sweep. Not yet Masters, not yet. Rua lands a couple of decent looking shots. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rua accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Masters should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Rua connects with a couple of short punches. Rua chips away with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Rua forces his way into half guard. Rua looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Nice strikes from Rua there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Masters is not content to let Rua control the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rua looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Masters looks gassed! Masters won't allow Rua to pass to mount. Masters blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rua. Rua is looking for a kimura but Masters is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rua to get the leverage. Rua wants to free his trapped foot but Masters is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua working the head and body with strikes. Masters is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rua scores with a couple of nice shots. Rua is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Masters has managed to free his arm - good work. Rua missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Rua missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Rua is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rua throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Masters is trying to stand up here but Rua is controlling him well. Rua thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Rua slips a nice elbow through Masters's hands, connecting with Masters's forehead. Rua works his way into side control. Rua landing strikes. Rua scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Masters to see if he's OK. Rua has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rua is chipping away with strikes.
You can see the frustration on Masters's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua scores with punches from side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rua cracks Masters with a big right hand but Masters just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Royce Rua dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Rua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Masters swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rua trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rua trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rua accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rua forces his way into half guard. Masters is breathing heavily. Rua seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Rua sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Masters defending well though. Rua is keen to just control but Masters is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua lands strikes from half guard. Masters on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Rua has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rua cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee warns Masters that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rua prevents Masters from getting the reversal. Rua punishing his opponent with strikes. Rua dominating with strikes here. Rua looking to finish Masters with some ground and pound. This is bad for Masters! Rua landing shots from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Rua raining down shots from the mount! Rua with shots to the head and body - Masters looks very uncomfortable down there. Rua scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Royce Rua overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rua working the ground and pound effectively.
BOOM! Rua connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua lands a big shot to the head and Masters winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
