Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Kehoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole River (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kehoe's entrance music is "Master of Puppets" by Metallica. A fine choice. River has chosen Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born On The Bayou as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Kehoe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Cole River!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
River blocks a head kick by Kehoe.
River wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
River dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kehoe throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and River counters with a slapping leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for River.
River keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kehoe backing away here, and River unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Kehoe takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kehoe throws a nice looking combination but River bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
River tries a quick counter leg kick but Kehoe is wise to it.

River lands with a hook. Kehoe tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
River fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kehoe has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
We've been hearing reports that Kehoe has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kehoe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kehoe wants to stand but River is controlling the position.
Kehoe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kehoe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
River is trying to maintain the position but Kehoe is very close to passing his half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

River has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from River. Kehoe shrugs it off though.
Cole River seems to be getting the better of the standup.
River throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Kehoe will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
River ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kehoe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with River but River pushes him off and we're back to square one.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cole River showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Kehoe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

River throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kehoe stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

River has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

River displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kehoe.

Oh Kehoe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
River lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kehoe takes a step back to recover.
Cole River is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
River slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kehoe takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
