PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carroll Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Last King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by i just want it all. Last King told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carroll Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Last King!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henry slaps away a takedown attempt from King, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Henry tries to counter with a takedown but King is quick to defend against it.

King shoots in and gets a takedown into Henry's guard.
Henry thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
King throws an elbow that misses. Henry uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in King's guard. Nice move by Henry!
King is looking to sweep but instead, Henry has passed into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Henry controlling the action here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Henry is thwarting King's attempts to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Henry seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
King moves into full guard.
Henry is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Henry's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
King wants to stand and escape but Henry is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Henry drives through with a takedown into guard.
King wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Henry manages to pass to side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if King can do anything to dispel that myth.
King on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Well, if Henry is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

King trying to hold on to Henry's head to control him but Henry postures up.

King looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Henry keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Henry seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down King for as long as he can get away with.
Nice strikes from Henry there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Henry prevents King from improving his position.
We've been informed that King has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Henry is thwarting King's attempts to control the position.
King wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Henry not doing much here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
King has his takedown stuffed
and Henry counters with a nice uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carroll Henry dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Henry closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Henry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Henry displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Carroll Henry is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

King scores with a takedown into Henry's guard.
King postures up in Henry's guard and throws a big left but Henry blocks it.
King wants to get up but he can't break Henry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
King must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Henry not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
King is fighting to break Henry's control of his arms but Henry is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
King is looking to work some ground and pound but Henry has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Henry is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! King has his hands clasped together but Henry extends and breaks King's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Henry.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Carroll Henry!
Last King was interviewed post fight and said 'first of all thanks for the MMATycoon community for having me here., and to the fans., uhmm to my opponent he's just got lucky today., i want a rematch'.
