3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Underestimated Dillashaw! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dillashaw gets caught flat footed, as Edgar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Dillashaw pulls Edgar in close to prevent any damage. Edgar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dillashaw is keeping the position for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dillashaw can do anything to dispel that myth. Edgar postures up in Dillashaw's guard and throws a big left but Dillashaw blocks it. Edgar throws a strike but Dillashaw rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Dillashaw trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Edgar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dillashaw blocking the ground and pound attempt from Edgar. Edgar is keen to just control but Dillashaw is a slippery customer. Edgar trying to mount his opponent but Dillashaw defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Edgar is looking to work some ground and pound but Dillashaw has wrist control. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dillashaw keeping moving, preventing Edgar from controlling successfully. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dillashaw lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Edgar circles away quickly and effectively. Edgar feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dillashaws jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Underestimated Dillashaw is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Edgar swings for the body but Dillashaw moves out of range.
Edgar is looking to wear down Dillashaw with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Edgar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dillashaw's waist but Dillashaw gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Edgar off to one side. Edgar doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dillashaw counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frankie Edgar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dillashaw gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Edgar to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Edgar. Dillashaw connects with a single shot there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Edgar is looking to clinch. Dillashaw connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Dillashaw keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Underestimated Dillashaw. I think Dillashaw has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
