Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Smakota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Sarsfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Smakota! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darren Sarsfield! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smakota misses with a head kick.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Smakota managing to block the knees to the body from Sarsfield.
Sarsfield has hold of one of Smakota's legs. Smakota is fighting the takedown attempt but Sarsfield gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Smakota is looking for a triangle here but Sarsfield uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smakota is trying to control Sarsfield's posture but Sarsfield avoids it. An elbow from Sarsfield crashes against the mat.

Sarsfield tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Smakota is in a horrible position here. Sarsfield smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Smakota shoots in but Sarsfield avoids the takedown attempt easily. Smakota fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sarsfield gets a double leg takedown into Smakota's guard. Smakota throws Sarsfield to one side and escapes! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Smakota tries to close the distance and clinch but Sarsfield swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nice sprawl there from Sarsfield as Smakota shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Smakota. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smakota misses with a takedown attempt - Sarsfield sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sarsfield gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Sarsfield slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Sarsfield tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sarsfield has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Sarsfield staying calm. Sarsfield decides to stand up, so the ref orders Smakota to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sarsfield looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smakota is fending him off so far but Sarsfield persists. Nope, Smakota circles away and we're back to standing. Sarsfield clinches up with Smakota and pushes him back against the cage. Sarsfield is trying to pull guard but Smakota turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Sarsfield has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Sarsfield drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Smakota putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Sarsfield in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Sarsfield holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Smakota misses with a hook from the clinch. Sarsfield tries to pull guard but Smakota won't allow it.

Smakota wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Sarsfield is now in half guard. Sarsfield working Smakota over with strikes. Smakota is trying to stand back up but Sarsfield is controlling him

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sarsfield throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smakota's waist but Smakota gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sarsfield off to one side. Sarsfield defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smakota. Decent striking displayed by Sarsfield there. Smakota tries to close the distance and clinch but Sarsfield swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sarsfield gets a clinch. Smakota misses with a short punch on the inside. Smakota is pressed up against the cage. Sarsfield has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smakota down to the mat. Smakota avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sarsfield. Smakota has a takedown stuffed. Sarsfield slaps away a takedown attempt from Smakota, before circling back to the center of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Darren Sarsfield will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Sarsfield shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smakota napping and manages to drive through into side control! Smakota throws Sarsfield to one side and escapes! Smakota throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Sarsfield's head. Sarsfield displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smakota. The fight stays on the outside here - Sarsfield looks like he's thinking about clinching though. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nice sprawl there from Smakota as Sarsfield shoots in. Smakota fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sarsfield shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smakota napping and manages to drive through into side control! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sarsfield landing strikes. Sarsfield advances to full mount. Sarsfield content just to control the position here. Smakota is wriggling around trying to escape.
Smakota has left one of his arms exposed and Sarsfield doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Smakota screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Darren Sarsfield! Darren Sarsfield looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'This is the first step on my way to the top, i will become world champion. '.
