Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nogueira has chosen Raimundos - Puteiro em joao pessoa as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nogueira to the mat! Nogueira manages to get full guard.

Nogueira can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace.

Nogueira tries to score a body lock takedown but Gracie shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Nogueira has Gracie pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gracie manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gracie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Nogueira looks a forlorn figure.

That was a close round but I would say that Roger Gracie will probably get the nod.

Nogueira keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head.
Nogueira must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gracie is working an open guard so Nogueira takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Nogueira is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Nogueira has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Gracie is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Nogueira.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nogueira's guard.

Nogueira is looking to get back to is feet but Gracie passes into side control.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.
