Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Birbiglia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Tran!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Eliza Hachem and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tran bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Birbiglia gets a double leg takedown into Tran's guard.
Birbiglia working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Birbiglia sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Birbiglia content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Birbiglia seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Birbiglia passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Birbiglia definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Tran looks winded!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Birbiglia looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Birbiglia in side control lands a decent elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Birbiglia scoring with punches and elbows.
Tran looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Tran takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Birbiglia remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Birbiglia is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tran is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Birbiglia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tran keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Birbiglia grinds an elbow into Tran's temple.
Birbiglia lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Tran down.
Birbiglia wants to control but Tran is keeping him busy.

Tran is rocked!
Birbiglia in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Tran looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Birbiglia turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roger Birbiglia!
A very excited looking Roger Birbiglia rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Andrew Tran spoke after the fight, saying 'Well It Wasn't My Best Fight, But I Will Train Hard To Get Back In The Game And Win My Next Fight.'.
