Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Enzo Galasso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
50 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michal Tarnowski! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tarnowski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Tarnowski tries to pass the half guard into mount. Galasso knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Galasso wants to control but Tarnowski is keeping busy and won't allow it. Tarnowski slips a nice elbow through Galasso's hands, connecting with Galasso's forehead. Galasso is staying active underneath Tarnowski, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Galasso looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Galasso actively working from the bottom here. Tarnowski is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Galasso is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tarnowski's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tarnowski's back! Tarnowski wants to control his opponent's hands but Galasso gets his hands free. Tarnowski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Tarnowski fending off the submission attempt from Galasso.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tarnowski wants to get back to full guard but Galasso has passed into side control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tarnowski throws a head kick that misses. Galasso lands a left and a right that sends Tarnowski crashing to the canvas! Galasso dives into mount looking to finish!
Tarnowski is rocked! Galasso is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tarnowski can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Tarnowski is still in real trouble! Can Galasso finish him? The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tarnowski is trying to escape the mount.
Tarnowski defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Galasso. Galasso controlling his opponent. Galasso has hold of Tarnowski's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tarnowski manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Galasso looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Galasso trying to control but Tarnowski is having none of it. Tarnowski tries to hold on but Galasso postures up. Galasso trying to control but he's not successful this time. Tarnowski seems to have recovered his senses. Tarnowski can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tarnowski tries to roll over but Galasso keeps him under control. The fighters are battling for position here. Tarnowski manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Galasso trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Tarnowski pulls Galasso in close to prevent any damage. Tarnowski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tarnowski trying to keep a closed guard but Galasso is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Galasso wants to control from the top but Tarnowski keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tarnowski is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Galasso throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Tarnowski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Galasso is not content to let Tarnowski control the position. Galasso is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tarnowski off and has taken his back! Galasso is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Galasso looking for the choke from the back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tarnowski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Galasso was covering up waiting for the punch and Tarnowski finishes the takedown easily into guard. Galasso looking for a guillotine here but Tarnowski defends easily.

My spies in Thunder MMA inform me that Tarnowski has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Tarnowski working the head and body with strikes. Michal Tarnowski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
