Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Lamb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Meehan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Meehan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sam Lamb's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sam Lamb! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marcus Meehan! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meehan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Lamb gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Meehan regains guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Meehan is on top in guard.
Meehan is fighting to break Lamb's control of his arms but Lamb is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Lamb wants to sweep here but Meehan controlling him for the moment. Lamb on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lamb tries to get out of the position. Lamb looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lamb is adopting a defensive guard. Lamb keeping moving, preventing Meehan from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meehan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lamb works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Meehan looking to pass the guard. Meehan preventing the sweep. Meehan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Lamb drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Meehan explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Lamb throws a right hand that Meehan ducks under and follows up with a left that Meehan also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meehan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Meehan tries for a takedown but Lamb sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lamb manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Meehan on his heels. He'll look to pass Meehan's guard now, I'm sure. Meehan pushes Lamb off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. An inside leg kick lands from Lamb. Nice sprawl there from Lamb as Meehan shoots in. Sam Lamb has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Meehan. Lamb clinches. Meehan drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Meehan works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamb wants to sweep here but Meehan controlling him for the moment. Lamb looking to control.
Lamb knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Meehan on the ground. Meehan trying to control the position from guard on top but Lamb is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lamb is looking for a triangle but Meehan pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lamb keeping full guard, as Meehan tries to pass. Lamb is controlling Meehan's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lamb not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lamb closes the distance and clinches. Lamb's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lamb takes the fight into the clinch. Lamb decides to pull guard. Meehan chips away with some ground and pound. Lamb manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Meehan manages to get himself to full guard.
Lamb scoring with punches to the head and body. Lamb might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lamb throws a big elbow that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sam Lamb will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lamb shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Meehan has one foot on Lamb's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Lamb keeps the fight on the outside. Lamb gets tackled into the cage by Meehan. Meehan maintains the clinch. Lamb breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lamb has closed the distance and engaged Meehan in a clinch.
Meehan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Meehan blocks a body shot from Lamb. Meehan gets control of Lamb's arms and successfully pulls guard. Meehan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lamb trying to control but Meehan is working from the bottom. Meehan looking for a guillotine here but Lamb defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meehan working for a triangle but Lamb defends it easily.
Meehan being controlled here, momentarily. Lamb looking to sit in guard and control but Meehan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Lamb has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Meehan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Meehan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meehan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Lamb has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Lamb continues to stall. Lamb working a defensive guard but Meehan manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamb tries to bench press Meehan off him but Meehan keeps the position. Lamb wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lamb throws a sloppy head kick and Meehan moves out of range easily. Lamb fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Meehan, pushing him back against the cage. Lamb tries a knee to the head but Meehan blocks it.
Lamb pushes Meehan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Lamb scores a nice knee to the body.
Lamb manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Meehan won't allow Lamb to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meehan trying to control the position from guard on top but Lamb is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lamb is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Meehan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lamb has control of Meehan's left arm, preventing Meehan from doing any damage. Lamb keeping moving, preventing Meehan from controlling successfully. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lamb has his feet on Meehan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sam Lamb dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Meehan gets caught flat footed, as Lamb shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Meehan manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Lamb slaps away a takedown attempt from Meehan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Lamb clinches. Lamb is trying to trip Meehan. He has hold of a leg but Meehan is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lamb persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Meehan pushes Lamb off and gets back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lamb stuffs the takedown. Meehan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lamb paws at him with a jab and circles away. Meehan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Meehan jumps guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meehan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lamb controls the pace. Marcus Meehan has got the better of the ground game so far. Lamb's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Meehan is looking to cinch up a triangle. Lamb throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Meehan's body to avoid the submission. Meehan has instead reached around Lamb's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Meehan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
