Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elmo Stafford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Kuznetsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Kuznetsov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Elmo Stafford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Kuznetsov! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stafford takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Elmo Stafford has been cut. Kuznetsov throws a sloppy head kick and Stafford moves out of range easily. Stafford tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kuznetsov manages to circle out of the way. Kuznetsov darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Kuznetsov feints and as Stafford raises his hands in defense, Kuznetsov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kuznetsov looks winded! Stafford pulls Kuznetsov in close to his closed guard and prevents Kuznetsov from doing any damage or advancing position. Stafford could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Stafford might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuznetsov wants to control from the top but Stafford keeps moving. Stafford seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Stafford doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kuznetsov counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Stafford shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kuznetsov as he avoids it easily. Kuznetsov lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Stafford has his takedown stuffed and Kuznetsov counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elmo Stafford. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kuznetsov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stafford was covering up waiting for the punch and Kuznetsov finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kuznetsov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stafford looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Stafford's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuznetsov is posturing up here but Stafford has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Kuznetsov tries to roll out but it's too tight and Kuznetsov has to tap! Slick submission there by Stafford!
