Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Canner!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas fails with a takedown attempt.
Thomas slaps away a takedown attempt from Canner, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Canner closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thomas circles away.
Canner closes the distance and clinches up with Thomas, looking for a takedown. Canner pushes Thomas against the cage but Thomas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Boris Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Canner.
Canner throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Thomas.


It looks like Boris Thomas has been cut.
Canner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Thomas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Canner is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Thomas.

Joe Canner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Canner throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thomas.
Canner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thomas pinned against the cage. Thomas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Thomas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thomas lands in his opponent's guard.
Canner is looking to stand back up but Thomas counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Canner.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Canner tries to get to full guard but Thomas has control of the leg.
Thomas is keen to just control but Canner is a slippery customer.
Thomas missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Canner is trying to get back to full guard.

Thomas is taking a breather. Canner says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Thomas prevents Canner from improving his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
No luck for Thomas with that takedown attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Thomas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Canner closes the distance and clinches up with Thomas, looking for a takedown. Canner pushes Thomas against the cage but Thomas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Thomas tries to counter with a takedown but Canner is quick to defend against it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Boris Thomas will probably get the nod.

Canner is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Thomas on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Canner. Canner obviously looking to wear him down.

Thomas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Canner lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Canner shoots for a takedown but Thomas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
