The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope lands with a hook. Leeroy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A bone on bone clash there as Leeroy blocks the leg kick.
Leeroy throws a nice inside leg kick.
Pope moves out of range as Leeroy strikes.
Pope works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Leeroy throws a low kick but Pope avoids it.
Pope turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Leeroy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pope listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Pope tests Leeroy's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Leeroy misses with a low kick.
Leeroy gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Pope slips under a jab.
Bruce Leeroy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pope missing with a left hand there. Leeroy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
As Pope backs away, Leeroy returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Leeroy throws a leg kick but Pope moved away.
Nice cross by Leeroy.
It looks like Jan Pope has been cut.
A left and a right from Pope both land. Nice combination.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Pope checks a leg kick.
Leeroy blocks the body kick.
Leeroy swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
We've been informed that Pope has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Leeroy misses the body punch
and Pope counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Leeroy knocks out Pope with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Leeroy before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Leeroy picks up the big W with a huge KO!
