The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter swats away the attempt to clinch by James.
James misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
James is looking to clinch.
James wants to clinch up but Carter keeps it at a distance.

Carter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard.
James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Carter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard.

James has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

James throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Carter pushes down on James's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Carter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Carter is landing with some decent strikes but James is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

James misses with a takedown

and Carter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Carter is looking for a kimura but James is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Carter to get the leverage.

James is refusing to be controlled, as Carter sits in half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Carter checks a leg kick nicely.
James moves in looking to clinch but Carter pushes him off.
Carter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts James as he jumps to the side.

James lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
James throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Carter colapses and takes a barrage of punches from James as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Carter is left battered and dazed whilst James and his camp cheer!
