Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forrest Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Forrest Briggs enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Bryan Turner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Forrest Briggs!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Briggs feints and as Turner raises his hands in defense, Briggs changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Briggs is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Briggs stands up from Turner's guard - Briggs perhaps looking for a knockout.

Briggs looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Turner tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Briggs manages to move to mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turner is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Turner stops Briggs from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Briggs looking to control and managing it successfully.
Briggs thowing shots but they're missing.
Briggs looking to ground and pound but Turner is blocking nicely.
Briggs controlling the pace for now.

Turner avoids a series of strikes thrown by Briggs.
Briggs controlling the position easily from mount.

Briggs goes for an armbar but Turner turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Turner.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Briggs is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Briggs throws his legs up looking for a submission but Turner uses it to pass to side control.
Briggs holds on to Turner's head and controls the position momentarily.
Briggs is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Briggs looks like he's trying to stand up.
Briggs avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Turner.
Turner could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Briggs trying to control here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Briggs keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Briggs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Briggs closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Turner did well to prevent Briggs getting side control.

Turner kicks Briggs off and gets back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Turner gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Briggs is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Forrest Briggs dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Turner is defended easily by Briggs.

Briggs shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Turner is trying to maintain the position but Briggs is very close to passing his half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Briggs throwing shots but Turner is blocking nicely.
Forrest Briggs has got the better of the ground game so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Briggs stalling.
Briggs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Turner's head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Briggs stalling.
Briggs passes the guard and advances to mount!
Briggs thowing shots but they're missing.
Briggs takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Turner is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turner wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Briggs.
Briggs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Briggs looking to control and managing it successfully.

Briggs is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Turner has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Turner!
Briggs throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Briggs looking to control.
Briggs is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Briggs has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Turner preventing the sweep.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Briggs lands a big head kick that sends Turner tumbling to the mat! Briggs takes a step backwards and waves Turner back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Turner is rocked!


It looks like Bryan Turner has been cut.
Briggs lands a big right hook! Turner looks hurt but is still standing! Briggs lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Turner falls down and Briggs dives in with a huge hammer fist! Turner's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Briggs runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Forrest Briggs!
