Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Felix Stanton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Reyol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Felix Stanton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Reyol! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reyol has taken the fight to the clinch.
Reyol turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! A lull in the action here as Reyol stalls from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Who's going to make the next move? Reyol controls the position from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reyol has control of an arm but Stanton manages to advance to Reyol's back! Reyol trying to control the action but Stanton just sinks the hooks in.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanton has the hooks in. Reyol is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Reyol tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Reyol is desperately trying to improve his position but Stanton has a good base and remains in mount. Reyol manages to regain half guard. Good work. Reyol is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Reyol should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Reyol is trying is best to control the position here. Stanton is trying to control. Reyol wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Reyol actively working from the bottom here. Stanton wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Reyol's head. Stanton is taking a breather. Reyol says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Stanton lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Reyol is staying active underneath Stanton, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Reyol holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Reyol misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Reyol shoots in and gets a takedown into Stanton's guard. Stanton is controlling Reyol's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reyol is stalling in the full guard. Stanton is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Stanton being controlled here, momentarily. Reyol stops Stanton from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Reyol looking to pass the guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Reyol drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reyol jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stanton doesn't succeed with the takedown and Reyol cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Felix Stanton has been cut. Stanton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Reyol sprawls well. Reyol wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stanton gets slowly back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Stanton gets caught napping as Reyol dives in and scores a takedown. Stanton manages to retain guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Reyol dominated that round. The cut man is working on Felix Stanton's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Reyol throws a sloppy head kick and Stanton moves out of range easily. Reyol forces Stanton back against the cage and clinches. Stanton is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Reyol to keep the fight standing. Reyol's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Reyol darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Stanton is looking to get back to is feet but Reyol passes into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reyol misses with the ground and pound. Stanton wants to control but Reyol postures up. Stanton prevents Reyol from moving into mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reyol is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stanton has escaped the position, nice work there. Stanton trying to remain calm as Reyol controls from the top position. Stanton parries the strikes from Reyol easily there. Reyol is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stanton to escape.
The ground and pound from Reyol seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Reyol controls the position. Reyol has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Reyol stands up and beckons Stanton to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. An inside leg kick lands from Reyol. Reyol scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Stanton managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Reyol.
Reyol tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Reyol decides to stand back up. Reyol steps back and let's Stanton get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Reyol shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stanton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Stanton is wriggling around but Reyol manages to pass to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reyol misses with a head shot. Stanton uses the momentum to regain guard. Reyol stands up from Stanton's guard - Reyol perhaps looking for a knockout. Stanton fails with the takedown and Reyol counters with a flying knee that drops Stanton! Reyol dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Reyol!
