Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Herbert Cote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tomasz Jr Rzasa! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rzasa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Cote pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Cote could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Rzasa turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rzasa manages to end up in side control. Cote throws Rzasa to one side and escapes! Rzasa gets a clinch. Rzasa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cote has managed to clinch.
Come on Rzasa - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Rzasa is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cote to keep the fight standing. Rzasa pressing his opponent against the cage. Rzasa manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote wants to clinch up but Rzasa keeps it at a distance. Nice defenses there by Cote. As Rzasa tries to get set, Cote tries to push him back and clinch up but Rzasa manages to avoid the attempt. Tomasz Jr Rzasa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cote shoots in but no luck this time. Rzasa looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Rzasa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cote sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rzasa somewhat. Cote tries to clinch up but Rzasa circles away and keeps his distance. Rzasa clinches up with Cote and pushes him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rzasa has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cote is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Herbert Cote has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomasz Jr Rzasa. Cote missing with knees to the body.
Cote is trying to stall.
Rzasa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cote walks away with a smile on his face. Rzasa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rzasa drives through and clinches with Cote against the cage.
Cote manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rzasa drags the fight down to the ground.
Cote looking to sit in guard and control but Rzasa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cote is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rzasa tries to stand but Cote is controlling from the bottom. Rzasa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Rzasa happy to just control the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rzasa scoring with punches and elbows. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rzasa wants to stand but Cote is controlling his arm. Rzasa scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Cote to see if he's OK. A lull in the action here as Rzasa stalls from top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tomasz Jr Rzasa dominated that round. The cut man is working on Herbert Cote's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Rzasa throws a half hearted mid kick. Cote gets tackled into the cage by Rzasa. Rzasa maintains the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cote takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Rzasa is stalling here.
Cote throws a head punch that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rzasa is trying to force a seperation but Cote has the dominant position. Cote takes an elbow to the temple. Rzasa breaks the clinch.
Rzasa gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote has Rzasa pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rzasa manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Rzasa breaks from the clinch.
Cote tries to sprawl but Rzasa drives through with a takedown into half guard. Rzasa is controlling the pace.
Rzasa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rzasa landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Herbert Cote's cut is getting worse.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Rzasa seems content to control. Rzasa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Rzasa unloading with bombs! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rzasa postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Cote in real trouble here! The ref calls for Cote to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tomasz Jr Rzasa!
