The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shifter moves into the clinch.
Mela has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Shifter pulls Mela into guard.
Mela passes into half guard.
Shifter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shifter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mela pulls his head out easily.

Shifter is trying to get back to full guard.
Mela works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mela is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Shifter can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shifter is squirming around, avoiding Mela's attempts to control the action.

Mela lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Shifter is wriggling around trying to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shifter takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Mela's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
