Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pascal Oaza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Moraes! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oaza lands a jab to the nose. Oaza slaps away a takedown attempt from Moraes, before circling back to the center of the mat. Moraes goes for a double leg but Oaza avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Oaza continues to drive forward. Pascal Oaza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oaza scores with a push kick. Oaza takes the fight into the clinch. Moraes drops down looking for an ankle pick but Oaza pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pascal Oaza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Moraes. Oaza has closed the distance and engaged Moraes in a clinch.

Oaza is looking to break free of the clinch but Moraes has double underhooks. Oaza misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oaza scores with a nice hook to the head. Moraes avoids a wild elbow strike from Oaza. Moraes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Moraes takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Oaza rushes Moraes and presses him up against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Oaza breaks the clinch.
Oaza cracks Moraes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Oaza as Moraes shoots in. Moraes tries to keep at a distance but Oaza has taken the fight into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Oaza's face as he tries to break the clinch. Oaza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Oaza cracks Moraes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Oaza defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Moraes. Nice sprawl there from Oaza as Moraes shoots in. Oaza clinches up against the cage. Moraes avoiding damage as Oaza throws knees to the body.
Oaza lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Oaza lands a shoulder strike. Oaza lands with a left to the head. Oaza escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pascal Oaza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Oaza drives through and clinches with Moraes against the cage.
Moraes drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
This has been an exciting period of action! Oaza breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck for Moraes with that takedown attempt. Oaza clobbers Moraes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Moraes has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Oaza. Oaza moves into range and clinches up with Moraes. Oaza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A chopping leg kick lands by Oaza. Oaza has Moraes up against the cage in a clinch.

Oaza instigates a clinch. Oaza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Moraes shoots in and drives through. Oaza sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Moraes. Moraes looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oaza lands a two punch combo.
Oaza closes the distance and clinches. Oaza lands with a left to the head. Oaza breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Oaza moves into the clinch successfully.
Oaza tries to circle away but Moraes has him pinned against the cage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Oaza creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Oaza lands with a light punch inside. Moraes keeps control of Oaza as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A nice glancing elbow lands by Oaza. Oaza breaks from the clinch.
Oaza darts in and clinches Moraes up against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Oaza manages to break the clinch.
Moraes tries for a takedown but Oaza sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Moraes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Oaza is fending him off so far but Moraes persists. Nope, Oaza circles away and we're back to standing. Oaza takes the fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oaza lands a shoulder strike. Oaza is trying to push Moraes away but Moraes has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Oaza breaks from the clinch.
Moraes stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Oaza. Oaza closes the distance and pushes Moraes back into the cage. Oaza using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Moraes has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Oaza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Moraes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oaza's waist but Oaza gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Moraes off to one side. Oaza cracks a nice hook into Moraes's ribs. Oaza has Moraes up against the cage in a clinch.
Oaza throws an elbow that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A left hand lands to the body for Oaza.
Oaza's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Moraes dodges the punch combination from Oaza.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pascal Oaza dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Oaza misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Oaza breaks the clinch.
Moraes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oaza tries to avoid it but Moraes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oaza to the ground. Oaza escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Oaza keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pascal Oaza is winning the standup battle so far. Moraes shoots in and bounces Oaza off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Moraes drops back looking for a leg! Oaza is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Oaza manages to kick Moraes off! Moraes jumps back into Oaza's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Moraes stops Oaza from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oaza is pulling down on Moraes's head. It's preventing any offense from Moraes, at least for the moment. Oaza looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Oaza wants to control position but Moraes is using a can opener to pass guard... He's turned it into a full on guillotine from mount now! Big trouble for Oaza here! He's turning a lovely shade of purple and yep! He's tapping out! I would say world class Jiu Jitsu but is it really? It was nice but let's not get silly about it.
