0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Bobberson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Hammer! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hammer is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hammer is looking to clinch but Bobberson is avoiding it.
Hammer tries to clinch up but Bobberson circles away and keeps his distance. Hammer looks for a takedown but Bobberson sprawls well. Bobberson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hammer won't allow Bobberson to pass to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hammer tries to kick Bobberson off but Bobberson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Bobberson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Hammer actively working from the bottom here. Bobberson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hammer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Hammer is trying to get back to full guard. Hammer is refusing to be controlled, as Bobberson sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bobberson sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bobberson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hammer is looking to escape. Hammer misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hammer is trying to stand up here but Bobberson is controlling him well. Hammer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bobberson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hammer tries to roll over but Bobberson keeps him under control. Well, if Bobberson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bobberson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hammer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bobberson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hammer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hammer trying to remain calm as Bobberson controls from the top position. Bobberson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hammer is trying to escape and Bobberson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hammer is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bobberson! Very nice indeed!
