Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zach Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ready Go (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Fall out Boy - Sugar, We're Goin Down. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ready Go!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.

and Go connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Go swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Go is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Go moves into the clinch.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but Go turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zach Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Johnson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Go after a bit of a struggle.

Go tries to score a body lock takedown but Johnson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Go tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Johnson smiles and moves away.
Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Go swivels and escapes.
Go lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Go.
Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Go, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Johnson is looking for a counter combo.

Go tries to pull guard but Johnson won't allow it.

Johnson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Go uses from the top position.

Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Go is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Go drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Go is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Johnson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Johnson has escaped and now he's on top!
Go has Johnson pulled in close to control his posture.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Johnson won't allow Go to sweep him here.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Go is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Go manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Go's guard.
Go is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Go is looking for a triangle here but Johnson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ready Go dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Go goes for a double leg but Johnson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Johnson continues to drive forward.
Johnson wants to clinch.
Go darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Go into the cage.
Go shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Zach Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ready Go.
Go doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Johnson counters with a big head kick but Go shrugs it off.
Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Go shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Go is defended easily by Johnson.
A quick step to the side and Johnson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson wants to clinch.
Go stuffs the takedown.
Go fails with a takedown attempt.
Go throws out a powerful jab.

Go shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.

Johnson pushes Go off and scrambles back to his feet.

Johnson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Go on his heels. He'll look to pass Go's guard now, I'm sure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Go controlling the position.
Zach Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Go is looking to escape.
Go is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Go is pressing down on Johnson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Johnson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Go wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Go dives in for a single leg takedown but Johnson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Johnson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Go defends well and Johnson ends up having to push Go into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Johnson leaves Go with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Go shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Johnson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Go's efforts to push away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Go tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Johnson pulls guard effortlessly.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Go doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Go manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Go looking to sit in guard and control but Johnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Go really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Go defending well though.
Go is refusing to be controlled, as Johnson sits in half guard.
Go blocking the ground and pound attempt from Johnson.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Go counters with a left and a right that stings Johnson.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Go darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Go lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


Johnson is rocked!

Go moves into the clinch successfully.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson wants to break free but Go has control.
Johnson is looking for a takedown.
Johnson seems to have got his legs back now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson misses with a hook to the ribs.

Johnson jumps into guard, dragging Go to the mat.
Go wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Go trying to stand up but can't free himself from Johnson's guard.

Go drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Johnson dives on top into guard.

Johnson gets control of Go's arms and successfully pulls guard. Johnson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Go wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Johnson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ready Go.
I think Go has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
