Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santo Bruce! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Badger! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Badger gets a clinch. Badger is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bruce is defending well for now. Bruce is trying to break the clinch but Badger is controlling him. Bruce on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Bruce is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Badger is defending well. Bruce lands a body shot in the clinch.
Badger just leaning against Bruce, taking a breather. Badger breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Badger pushes Bruce up against the cage in a clinch. Badger tries to land knees in the clinch but Bruce avoids the damage to the body. Badger breaks from the clinch.
Badger swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bruce drops down looking for a counter takedown but Badger sprawls and moves away. Badger is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bruce sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Badger gets caught napping as Bruce dives in and scores a takedown. Badger manages to retain guard. Bruce will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Badger seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Bruce drops back looking for a leg! Badger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Badger manages to kick Bruce off! Bruce jumps back into Badger's guard. Badger wants to get back to his feet but Bruce is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruce working some strikes from top position. Bruce is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Badger looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bruce is one step ahead there. Badger is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Bruce dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Badger avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bruce.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bruce throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Badger wants to get back to his feet but Bruce is dominant here and he's now got Badger's back! Bruce is looking for the choke from the back position but Badger is controlling his hands well. Badger is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Bruce is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Bruce really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bruce has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Badger wants to control his opponent's hands but Bruce gets his hands free. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Badger is trying to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Badger trying to control but not successfully. Badger is trying to get back to his feet but Bruce has full control of the position and if anything, Badger has just worked his way into a worse spot. Badger is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Badger looks winded! You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Badger is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Bruce shoots in looking for a takedown. Badger tries to sprawl out of it but Bruce keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Badger manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Some wild striking there from Badger.
Badger throws a leg kick that is checked enabling Bruce to counter with a crisp jab. A left lands for Bruce. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bruce clinches up with Badger and pushes him back against the cage. Badger breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bruce goes for a takedown in the clinch but Badger prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Santo Bruce will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Badger takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Badger walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Bruce checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Bruce tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Badger manages to circle out of the way. Badger moves into the clinch. Badger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Badger instigates a clinch. Bruce gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Badger regains guard.
Bruce trying to control the position from guard on top but Badger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Badger has Bruce pulled in close to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Badger is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bruce is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Badger wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Bruce goes for a double leg but Badger avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Badger continues to drive forward. Bruce leaves Badger with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. As Badger tries to get set, Bruce tries to push him back and clinch up but Badger manages to avoid the attempt. Bruce cracks a nice hook into Badger's ribs. Badger dives in and grabs Bruce's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bruce pushes down on Badger's head and hops out. Badger is breathing heavily. Bruce takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Badger. Badger moves into the clinch successfully.
Bruce wants to get back to striking at distance but Badger won't allow it.

Bruce is working for takedown but Badger is calmly controlling the position for now. Bruce breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Badger leaves Bruce with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Santo Bruce. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bruce clobbers Badger with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Badger fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bruce, pushing him back against the cage. Bruce tries for a takedown but Badger manages to get underhooks.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Badger changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bruce fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Nice sprawl there from Bruce as Badger shoots in. Bruce is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Badger. Badger moves into the clinch. Badger manages to break the clinch.
Bruce throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Badger stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. No joy there for Badger, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bruce darts in looking for a takedown but Badger gets double underhooks and turns Bruce into the cage. Bruce tries for a takedown but Badger sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A nice leg kick lands there from Badger. Badger closes the distance and clinches. Badger has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bruce avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Bruce has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Badger regains guard immediately. Bruce trying to control the position from guard on top but Badger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bruce throws a big elbow that misses. Badger has his hands on Bruce's head, controlling the position. Bruce is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Badger is trying to control the position but Bruce postures up. Santo Bruce overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Badger is looking to stand up but Bruce isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oliver Badger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Bruce lands a good knee to the midsection. Badger won't want to take too many of those. A nice glancing elbow lands by Badger.
It looks like Santo Bruce has been cut. Badger tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bruce smiles and moves away.
Badger moves into range and clinches up with Bruce. Bruce is trying to drag Badger to the mat but Badger just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Badger keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bruce's efforts to push away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Badger's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Bruce is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Badger pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruce is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Badger can't fight it off and eventually Bruce manages to take the fight to the floor. Badger looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bruce drops back, looking for a kneebar! Badger looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Badger looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Badger! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bruce taking a bit of punishment here - Badger scoring with strikes. Badger creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Bruce is rocked! Badger stands up and we're back to a striking position. Oh Bruce is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Badger gets in close and instigates a clinch. Badger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Badger working the clinch nicely. Bruce is working for position but Badger cracks him with a big knee to the head! Bruce crumples up against the cage and Badger lands two more shots before the ref can save Bruce! This one is all over!
