Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abraham Safforn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Palmer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abraham Safforn! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palmer slips a jab from Safforn. Safforn wants to clinch. Palmer lands a jab to Safforn's midsection. Palmer connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Palmer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Safforn lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Safforn with a nice cross. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Palmer tries for a takedown but Safforn circles away easily and Safforn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Good exchange - Palmer coming out on top. Chris Palmer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Palmer moves out of range of the strikes. Palmer swings for the body but Safforn moves out of range.
Palmer seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Safforn with a body punch. A glancing blow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Safforn throws a right hand that Palmer ducks under and follows up with a left that Palmer also avoids with ease. Palmer cracks the inside of Safforn's front leg. Palmer connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Safforn momentarily.
Safforn moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Safforn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Safforn checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Safforn, as that shot connected.
Palmer gets caught flat footed, as Safforn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Palmer trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Palmer throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Palmer looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Palmer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Palmer has momentary wrist control but Safforn slips an elbow through the middle. Palmer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Safforn throwing strikes from guard but Palmer blocks nicely. Palmer wants to hit a switch here but Safforn passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Palmer there! Safforn pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Palmer is squirming around, avoiding Safforn's attempts to control the action. Safforn is in the full mount, landing strikes. Palmer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Safforn scoring with strikes but Palmer is staying in there. Safforn dominating with strikes here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Palmer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Safforn in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Safforn unloading with bombs! Safforn prevents Palmer from getting the reversal. Safforn lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Palmer hang on? Palmer tries to get back to half guard but can't. Palmer is squirming around, avoiding Safforn's attempts to control the action. Safforn lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Palmer is in all sorts of trouble here.
A nice elbow there by Safforn. Safforn wants to control the pace but Palmer is squirming around nicely. Palmer working to try and regain half guard.
Palmer bucks Safforn off and manages to get back to his feet! Palmer throws a quick inside leg kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Safforn darts in looking for a takedown but Palmer gets double underhooks and turns Safforn into the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Abraham Safforn dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Safforn fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Safforn walks into a stiff left hand from Palmer. Safforn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Safforn moves out of range of the leg kick from Palmer. Safforn throws a quick inside leg kick. Palmer misses with a hook. Safforn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Palmer tries to land a leg kick but Safforn saw it coming and moves away.
Safforn is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Safforn tries a low kick but Palmer avoids it. Safforn throws a leg kick but Palmer sees it coming and moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Palmer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Palmer wants it to stay on the feet. Safforn gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Safforn takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Safforn takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palmer connects with a body shot that sends Safforn's belly button to the back. Safforn fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Palmer on the side of the head. Jab from Safforn. Palmer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Palmer blocks a jab. Safforn connects with a nice looking jab.
Palmer ducks under a wild hook from Safforn. Palmer changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Palmer blocks a leg kick. Palmer moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Palmer throws a low kick but Safforn avoids it. Palmer connects with a looping right hand.
Palmer throws a jab when Safforn was well out of range. Palmer lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Safforn throws a head kick that half lands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Palmer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Safforn sprawls well. Safforn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Palmer gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Safforn connects with a good right hand that stumbles Palmer. Palmer circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Palmer swings away with a leg kick that misses. Safforn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Palmer was well out of range. Poor timing from Safforn. Safforn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Safforn passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Palmer! Palmer regains half guard. Palmer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palmer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Safforn looking to pass the guard. Safforn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Palmer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Safforn has managed to get both his arms back between Palmer's legs - danger averted. Palmer has control of Safforn's left arm, preventing Safforn from doing any damage. Palmer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Safforn defends well. Palmer looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Safforn has picked Palmer up and slammed him! Palmer can't keep hold of the triangle and Safforn manages to pass to side control! Safforn throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sloppy strikes there by Safforn. Palmer is trying to get back to half guard. Palmer gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Palmer is pressing down on Safforn's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Safforn distracts Palmer with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Safforn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Safforn makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Safforn trying to control the position from guard on top but Palmer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Palmer has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Safforn doesn't defend quickly enough and Palmer has managed to lock this one up! Can Safforn escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Palmer on a fantastic submission victory.
