Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Toney Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Svensson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Svensson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Shinedown - Diamond Eyes kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Alex Svensson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Svensson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Shields counters with a shoot takedown. Svensson fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Svensson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Shields tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Shields throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Alex Svensson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Svensson lands a left and a right that send Shields crashing to the mat, dazed. Svensson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Toney Shields has been cut.

Svensson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shields swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It looked like Shields was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Svensson is looking to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Svensson.
Shields throws a big counter combination but Svensson scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Shields closes the distance and clinches up with Svensson, looking for a takedown. Shields pushes Svensson against the cage but Svensson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Shields closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Svensson did well to prevent Shields getting side control.
Shields lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Svensson is staying active underneath Shields, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Shields is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Svensson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Svensson has escaped and now he's on top!
Svensson wanted to stand there but Shields had control of the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Svensson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Shields.

Shields is rocked!
Shields drops his hands momentarily and Svensson needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Shields just on the top of the head. Shields drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Shields - he's done!

A very excited looking Alex Svensson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
